Here are some answers:

How Shop Restocks Work

Email Subscribers will get early access to the website. More in next section.

  1. Show up on time. Restocks sell out quickly. Get on the site 5 minutes before the restock. Refresh when the update begins and the inventory populates the site. It is a good idea to preview the website the day before the restock to familiarize yourself with the available products (I usually pull the product at an hour before the restock to update inventory).
  2. Use a pre-saved payment method like SHOP PAY or APPLE PAY. A pre-saved payment allows you to checkout quickly without adding having to type in your information.
  3. Purchase 1 item at a time. Shopify Websites cannot hold items in your cart and they will not be reserved until you complete your purchase. We will combine orders (and refund excess shipping charges) going to the same customer.

No Special Orders?

We don't do special or custom orders for several reasons.

  1. Because of the transformational process of turning clay into a piece of pottery we never know quite what will happen to a piece that goes in the kiln. We prefer to photograph and sell pieces after they are finished for the sake of accuracy.
  2. The current demand for our work coupled with having reached the capacity of what we can make each month doesn't give us any extra time for wholesale or special orders.

International Shipping

Yup! Price varies but we usually can ship a mug USPS First Class mail for $20USD-$30USD Worldwide. Price will automatically calculate in the checkout when there are items in stock. Large items and orders are more expensive, feel free to email me with shipping questions at hello@rbdpottery.com

Care & Safety

The safety of our pottery pieces is really important to us! We carefully formulate and test our glazes and don't use lead or toxic metals in them.

All our glazes are non-toxic and food-safe.

Pieces without gold are dishwasher and microwave safe.

We recommend hand-washing gold items. More on gold below. 👇

Gold Products

It's real gold!

We paint a liquid suspended gold onto our pottery and fire it to form a layer of Gold onto the surface. Gold is conductive - these pieces are NOT MICROWAVE SAFE.

Treat products with gold accents as fine china - handle with care while washing, do not use an abrasive scrubber while hand-washing, and do not allow the mug to rub against other rough dishes in the sink. The thin layer of real gold will hold up against washing but, because it is gold, it can be scratched.

We run our gold products through the dishwasher but some harsh detergents can wear down the gold and alter the longevity of the finish.
